Celebrating its 20th Year, the NULITES Youth Leadership Summit is proud to present its annual summit, “NULITES NU HEIGHTS: Power Beyond Measure!” July 29 – August 1, 2009 at the University of Illinois Chicago Campus, Chicago, IL. The NULITES Youth Summit is an empowerment conference for youth involved in the Urban League affiliate programs. Each year approximately 350+ youth, ages 14-18 years old and their chaperons, gather in the conference host city and are immersed in a residential college setting designed to assist young people to attain success beyond high school. Highlights of the Summit include workshops, plenary sessions, social and networking events, career explorations panels and culminates in an awards and recognition celebration.

Youth workshops focus on:

Post secondary success
Career exploration
Financial literacy
Community Service & Advocacy
Entrepreneurship
Critical Thinking and Problem solving skills

Adult workshops will focus on:

Programming for high school age youth
College Access & Retention
Program evaluation
Project Based Learning
Using Technology in Out of School Time
Effective Partnerships with Schools, Business and Higher Education
Reporting Outcomes and Impacts
Lesson Planning and Activity Implementation in Out of School Time

In addition, the Youth Leadership Summit merges with the National Urban League Conference and will participate in events such as the Keynote address and exhibits in order to provide youth further access and connection to Urban League leaders.
